An exercise of Life Map that is a tool for solicitude was done. In that, scars – the hurts, losses, grief, bitter experiences were plotted and stars – memorable events, joyful experiences were plotted. Delegates prayed for one another and witnessed God’s faithfulness how he makes scars as stars.
Submission is important in Christian life: 1. to God - yielding our body, mind, and spirit for God's purposes. 2. to the Scriptures - yielding ourselves to hear, receive and obey the Word. 3. to our Families - a commitment to listen to one another and a willingness to share. 4. to our Neighbors and those around us - helping those in need and doing small acts of kindness. 5. to the Body of Christ - fulfilling our function as a member of the body - doing those things which we can for our church. 6. to the Broken and Despised - fulfilling our purpose as ministers to the poor and undefended in our culture and not just sending our help anonymously. 7. to the World - "a determination to live as a responsible member of an increasingly irresponsible world."
Servant leadership has to be evaluated in five paradigms: 1. Position: Boss or slave; 2. Power: Control or empower; 3.Possession: Grab or Give; 4. Pride: Rebel or Obey and 5.Parochialism: Divisions or Koinonia.
Confession is acknowledging our sins, weakness, short comings, inadequacy and insufficiency to God, seeking forgiveness. Worship is Adoring, admiring, acknowledging the Greatness of God and praise Him for what he is. Worship has to be lifestyle of a disciple. Guidance is receiving God’s direction for making right decisions in life and for corporate decision making in the church. Information, Intuition and Insight are three important components of decision making. Information is research or knowledge; Intuition is feeling; and Insight is God’s impressions in our minds. Celebration is rejoicing and realizing His Presence always.
The Parable of two sons: Prodigal son confesses sin; Elder son cannot participate in celebration because of envy. The elder son had lost five essential spiritual capacities: He lost the capacity to recognize fathers mind; relate to his father, reconcile with his brother, to rejoice and to repent. |
